Quote: "In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, particularly on the Oleksandrivka and Huliaipole fronts, intense fighting has been ongoing for several consecutive days. The enemy is using every available type of weapon to dislodge the Armed Forces of Ukraine from their positions. Over the past few days alone, up to a hundred combat clashes have been recorded."
Details: According to the defence forces, the withdrawal was prompted by the intensification of Russian assault actions, numerous infiltration attempts and huge fire pressure – over 400 artillery strikes and about 2,000 munitions used daily. Nearly all shelters and fortifications were destroyed, forcing Ukrainian defenders to retreat from positions near the settlements of Novouspenivske, Nove, Okhotnyche, Uspenivka and Novomykolaivka to save the lives of their personnel.
"The enemy is attempting to bring consolidation groups into these settlements, but Ukrainian defenders are doing everything possible to prevent them," the statement said.
Fierce fighting also continues for Yablukove, Rivnopillia and Solodke.
As reported, Russian forces advancing from the east are seeking to encircle Huliaipole and cut off supply routes leading from Pokrovske.
"The fighting continues. Our assault and other units are fiercely battling for every inch of Ukrainian soil," military officials stressed.
Background: Earlier, the analytical group DeepState reported that Russian forces had captured Katerynivka in Donetsk Oblast and Novomykolaivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, as well as advanced in several directions across the two oblasts.
