The Ukrainian military compared the monthly figure to nine parades on Red Square, enough people to fill 200 Moscow Metro train carriages, or the entire population of Chukotka.

In addition, Ukraine's defence forces liberated 96.2 sq km of Ukrainian territory in October – 10.4 sq km more than the Russians managed to capture over the same period.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "Russia is suffering losses. We are holding our positions, liberating territory, and ensuring that every day of the war costs the aggressor as much as possible. All Russia needs to do to stop these insane losses is choose a ceasefire and diplomacy."

Background: In October, units from the Unmanned Systems Forces hit a Russian asset every 41 seconds and a Russian soldier every 159 seconds on average. October was a record month for the number of Russian personnel losses inflicted by the group.
