Pope calls for "just and lasting peace" in Ukraine
Pope Leo XIV has expressed his condolences over the people killed in Ukraine due to the latest Russian attacks.

Quote from Leo XIV: "I follow with sorrow the news of attacks that continue to strike numerous Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv.
These assaults cause deaths and injuries, among them children, and inflict serious damage on civilian infrastructure, leaving families homeless as the cold sets in."
Details: The Pope expressed solidarity with those affected and urged people around the world not to become accustomed to war and destruction.
He concluded his tweet: "Let us pray for a just and lasting peace in war-torn Ukraine."
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha thanked the Pope for his prayers and condolences to the Ukrainian people after Russia's latest brutal strike on Kyiv.
"We value the Pontiff's call not to become accustomed to this terror. It is important for the world to unite in demanding that the aggressor stop this war," he tweeted.
