F-35 fighter-jet component producer tests drone-detection system in Ukraine

Terma A/S, a Danish defence company that makes components for the F-35 fighter jets, has tested its artificial intelligence-based drone detection technology in Ukraine.

Details: Fedorov said that the trials were carried out through the Test in Ukraine platform.
Quote from Fedorov: "We tested Terma A/S's solution for detecting enemy drones. Terma A/S is Denmark's largest defence company and produces more than 80 components for the F-35 [fighter jets]. Engineers are now integrating this technology with the Ukrainian Horska interceptor from Odd Systems to spot Russian aerial assets at even greater distances."
More details: Fedorov added that Brave1, a Ukrainian defence-tech cluster, facilitated the testing and collected feedback from Ukrainian troops. He also released a video in which a lead engineer from Terma A/S described the trials in Ukraine.
Quote from the Terma A/S lead engineer: "This is absolutely unique access to the right kind of data and the right kind of feedback. We want to help Ukraine, but we also want to learn. So meetings like these, where military personnel with frontline experience come in and tell us what is not working, are vital for us," said.
More details: Fedorov said that a further round of trials is planned once engineers have incorporated the military's feedback.
Background: In July 2025, Ukraine presented a platform for testing foreign defence technologies based on Brave1, a Ukrainian defence-tech cluster. Developers can test their technologies on site and refine them in real time, or hand trials over to the cluster, whose specialists run the tests and provide partners with a results report.
