Quote from Nikolayev: "Dear residents of Chuvashia, today our city of Cheboksary was subjected to a large-scale attack by enemy UAVs launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Sadly, damage has been recorded to two residential buildings."

Details: However, Astra, after analysing photos and videos from Cheboksary, concluded that the drones have actually hit the VNIIR-Progress JSC facility on 4 Yakovleva Street. A 12-storey residential building at 37 Mir Avenue was also damaged.

Video footage captured by witnesses shows the factory, which produces equipment for Russian forces, being hit and catching fire.

VNIIR-Progress JSC is part of the ABS Electro manufacturing group. It was earlier reported that the factory produces Kometa antennas, which protect Russian drones from Ukrainian electronic warfare systems.

This factory was previously struck by drones on 9 June, when it had to halt operations, and again on 5 July.
