Over 50 hits this autumn: Ukrainian journalists publish satellite imagery and map of Ukrainian attacks on Russian facilities

Journalists from the Skhemy investigative project have created a map of the Ukrainian defence forces' strikes on Russia's fuel and military-industrial facilities and analysed the aftermath using satellite imagery. According to their findings, the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit more than 50 strategic sites across Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea during the autumn of 2025 alone.

Quote from Skhemy: "Using Planet Labs satellite images at the disposal of the newsroom, journalists outlined the scale of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' strikes by compiling an interactive map of the affected Russian strategic facilities: military sites, oil and gas refineries, oil depots and terminals."
Details: Journalists analysed the consequences of 13 of these strikes, drawing on satellite imagery and expert assessments.
On the night of 31 October-1 November, Ukraine's defence forces struck a pipeline of the Tuapse oil terminal.
Planet Labs images from 3 November show traces of a fire on one of the pipeline piers and an oil spill into the sea.

Drone debris also fell on an oil tanker, damaging the deck superstructure and causing a fire, according to the Telegram channel of the Krasnodar Krai operations headquarters.
According to the Black Sea Institute of Strategic Studies, three tankers were being loaded at the terminal during the attack: two Greek vessels (Pollux and Coast Buster) and one Turkish (Chai).
On the night of 21-22 October, Ukrainian defence forces struck a workshop of the Saransk Mechanical Plant, part of the Rostec corporation and a key producer of weapons and ammunition for the Russian army.
Planet Labs satellite images taken shortly after the strike show damage to the roof of one of the factory buildings.

Skhemy highlighted that this company alone was targeted seven times this autumn. One of the attacks took place on the night of 13-14 November.
Planet Labs images dated 16 November show damage to at least one fuel tank and destruction of a technological pipeline.
On the night of 29-29 October, Ukraine's defence forces struck two oil depots near Simferopol in temporarily occupied Crimea – Komsomolsky and Kedr – damaging fuel storage tanks. Satellite images indicate large-scale fires broke out at both sites. At Komsomolsky, lubricants and fuel storage facilities were burning.
On the night of 13-14 November, the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit the oil-loading terminal of Transneft, the world's largest oil-transport company. The strikes targeted the Sheskharis terminal, a naval base point, port infrastructure, launchers and missile storage facilities.
Planet Labs satellite images show traces of at least two fires likely caused by the strikes: one near the location where oil products are loaded onto tankers, and another along the pipeline near a motorway.

In autumn 2025, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the Feodosiia Marine Oil Terminal (in occupied Crimea) three times. The first strike, on 6 October, is considered the most successful.
Satellite images show 13 fuel tanks hit and destroyed, damage near two underground fuel storage facilities, and damage near the railway.

Between late September and early October, Ukraine's defence forces also struck the Zenzevatka intermediate oil-pumping station of state-owned Transneft and the Korobkovsky gas processing plant of Lukoil (located 60 km apart).
Planet Labs images from 27 September show damage to one of the buildings at Zenzivatka station.
The Korobkovsky gas processing plant also sustained significant damage, visible in satellite imagery taken the day after the Ukrainian strike in October.
