Ukraine's General Staff confirms Ukrainian drones hit oil refinery in Russia's Yaroslavl Oblast

Ukraine's defence forces have struck an oil refinery in Russia's Yaroslavl Oblast as well as a number of targets in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Quote: "As part of reducing the enemy's offensive potential and complicating the supply of fuel and ammunition to the occupiers' military units, units of Ukraine's defence forces have struck the facilities of the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery in Russia's Yaroslavl Oblast."
Details: The General Staff added that this is one of Russia's largest oil refineries, capable of processing up to 15 million tonnes of crude oil and gas condensate per year. It is involved in supplying the Russian forces.
Explosions and a large fire were recorded in the target area. The extent of the damage is being confirmed.
Quote: "Additionally, with the aim of reducing the enemy's offensive potential, an ammunition storage point was struck near the village of Avdiivske (formerly Pervomaiske), and concentrations of enemy personnel in the areas of Myrnohrad and Rodynske in Donetsk Oblast."
Background: On the night of 11-12 December, drones attacked the Russian city of Yaroslavl, located north-east of Moscow, more than 700 km from the state border with Ukraine. The strike caused a fire at the local oil refinery.
