Ukraine to receive US$5bn in military aid via PURL by end of year

Ukraine will receive around US$5 billion worth of military equipment via the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative by the end of 2025.

Details: Air defence systems, ammunition and critical spare parts will be supplied from US military stockpiles. Shekerinska said that PURL logistics operate around the clock through hubs in Poland and Romania. She also noted that Ukraine always needs more air defence, and that the defence industries in NATO countries are increasing production to cover this shortfall.
Shekerinska pointed out that the lion's share of air defence assets reaches Ukraine through PURL. "This is literally the difference between life and death," she said.
For reference: PURL is an initiative of the United States and NATO that is designed to rapidly deliver US weapons purchased by partner countries for Ukraine. It became operational in the summer of 2025. As of early December, 21 countries worldwide have joined the initiative. Funding for weapons procurement has been provided by, among others, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Germany, as well as Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Background: Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine's goal is to secure US$1 billion per month for weapons under PURL.
