Quote from Bosacki: "It is important that the representatives responsible for peace negotiations on behalf of US President Donald Trump – both in the Middle East and in Ukraine – namely Mr Witkoff and Mr Kushner, will join us. They will communicate with foreign ministers of the European Union."
Details: Bosacki stressed that this demonstrates that the Americans are engaging in this way, even though they do not always seek dialogue with the Europeans, particularly in EU formats such as today's Foreign Affairs Council, which involves all EU foreign ministers.
The Polish minister also reiterated that the US negotiators will be present in person at a meeting with EU leaders in Berlin, which will also be attended by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Quote from Bosacki: "This matters because it shows that Europe is part of these negotiations and that Europe is taken seriously and treated as an actor in its own right – not only by Ukraine, but also by our American allies."
Background:
- On 15 December, talks between Ukrainian and US delegations on the "peace plan" continued in Berlin.

- According to the schedule released by the Office of the President of Ukraine, a meeting involving a broader group of European leaders will begin in Berlin at 20:00 Kyiv time.
