Russia attacks Ukraine with 82 drones: 63 UAVs downed, 12 locations hit

Russia has attacked Ukraine with 82 drones on the night of 17-18 December. Ukrainian air defence forces have destroyed 63 UAVs, but hits have been recorded at 12 locations.

Details: The drones were launched from the Russian cities of Millerovo, Kursk, Oryol and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

About 50 of the UAVs were Shahed drones.

Early reports indicated that as of 08:30, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 63 Russian drones of the Shahed, Gerbera and other types in the country's north, south, east and and centre.

Hits by 19 UAVs were recorded at 12 locations and the falling of downed drones (debris) at 8 locations.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces were involved in repelling the attack.
