President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukraine and the US have finalised a number of documents within a peace package.

Details: In particular, Zelenskyy said US security guarantees have now been agreed.

Quote: "The 20-point plan [the peace plan – ed.] – 90% agreed, the US Ukraine security guarantees – 100% agreed, US-Europe Ukraine security guarantees – almost agreed, military dimension [of these guarantees – ed.] – 100% agreed."

Details: Zelenskyy added that work on some documents is still ongoing.

"[The] prosperity plan is being finalised, and we also discussed the sequencing of the following actions," he said. It was previously reported that the leaders would agree on the sequence in which the points of the peace deal will be implemented.

Zelenskyy stressed that he sees security guarantees as one of the key elements of the agreements. "We agreed that security guarantees are the key milestone in achieving lasting peace," he said.

Both presidents said the talks would continue. "We agreed that our teams will meet in the coming weeks to finalise all discussed matters, and we agreed with President Trump that he will host us, maybe in Washington, in January," Zelenskyy added.

Background: As reported earlier, Zelenskyy and Trump met in Florida for peace talks, with Trump immediately warning that he would call Russian leader Vladimir Putin after his conversation with Zelenskyy.
