Air defence active in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast; explosions recorded in Kharkiv and Poltava

Ukraine's air defence forces were responding to Russian targets in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast on the night of 4-5 January. Explosions were also recorded in Kharkiv and Poltava amid the threat of UAVs.

Details: At 01:20, Kyiv Oblast Military Administration reported that air defence systems were downing Russian drones.

Earlier, Suspilne reported a series of explosions in Kharkiv and Poltava.

Updated: At 01:51, the Air Force reported that Russian UAVs were approaching Kyiv. It later became known that a group of UAVs was heading toward the city from the north.

Air defence systems were responding in Kyiv to Russian targets.

At 02:50, Klitschko confirmed that "air defence forces were active in the capital."

At 05:45, the all-clear was given in Kyiv and districts of Kyiv Oblast.
