Russian Molniya drone hits infrastructure facility in Kharkiv overnight

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov has reported that a Russian Molniya-type drone had struck an infrastructure facility in the city on the night of 10-11 January.

Details: Terekhov added that all the appropriate services were working at the scene of the strike.
Update: At 04:04, Terekhov reported repeated Russian drone strikes in Kharkiv's Slobidskyi district.
Later, the mayor clarified the details of the repeated strikes, saying: "Following inspections, a Shahed-type UAV was recorded hitting the ground in an open area in the Slobidskyi district."
Background:
- In January 2025, Kharkiv has seen an increase in strikes involving a new type of Russian weapon – the Molniya drone. Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, has said that this UAV is made largely from scrap materials but remains dangerous because it carries a warhead.
- On 9 January 2025, a Russian Molniya drone struck a business facility in Kharkiv; early reports indicated that a 65-year-old man was injured.
