Zelenskyy names Ukrainian delegates for Ukraine-US-Russia meeting in UAE

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed the members of Ukraine's delegation for a trilateral meeting in the United Arab Emirates on 23-24 January.

Details: The Ukrainian delegation at the UAE talks will consist of Rustem Umierov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council; Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the President's Office; Serhii Kyslytsia, First Deputy Head of the President's Office; Davyd Arakhamiia, Head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction; and Andrii Hnatov, Chief of the General Staff.
Quote: "The whole group will go. There will be a trilateral meeting. Umierov, Budanov, Kyslytsia and Arakhamiia will be there, and I have asked Hnatov to fly out from Kyiv. That is essential, because the military must be present."
Details: Zelenskyy specified that the trilateral Ukraine-US-Russia meeting at negotiator level is to be held in the UAE. He said the teams will work for two days.
Budanov previously headed Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) and Kyslytsia served as Ukraine's permanent representative to the UN in 2020-2024.
Arakhamiia took part in talks with Russia back in spring 2022.
Background: On 22 January, Zelenskyy announced that trilateral talks are to take place between Ukraine, the US and Russia on Friday and Saturday in the United Arab Emirates.
