US offers its country as venue for Ukraine-Russia talks for first time – Zelenskyy

The United States has offered for the first time to host the next round of trilateral talks on ending Russia's war against Ukraine on its territory.

Details: Zelenskyy said that the venue for the talks could be Miami.

Quote: "America has offered for the first time for the two negotiating groups, Ukraine and Russia, to meet in the US, probably in Miami, in a week. We have confirmed our participation."

More details: Zelenskyy also said he had spoken by phone with the Ukrainian delegation after all the meetings.

Personal briefings from the negotiating team members are scheduled for 7 February after the delegation returns from the UAE to Ukraine.

  • Zelenskyy also said that the US had proposed that Russia's war against Ukraine be ended before the summer, as they would have a different priority later on, namely the US congressional elections.
