Russian attacks across four Ukrainian regions kill 3, injure 26 over past day

Three people were killed and another 26 injured in Russian strikes over the past 24 hours in Chernihiv, Sumy, Donetsk and Kherson oblasts.

Details: Over the past day Russian attacks damaged homes and power transmission lines in Chernihiv Oblast. A UAV strike caused a residential building and a school building (which was not in operation) to catch fire.

In Sumy Oblast, a Russian UAV strike injured women aged 25 and 35 and men aged 34 and 36 in the Shostka hromada. In the Sumy hromada, a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl were injured in a drone attack. In the Komyshi hromada, a 33-year-old man was injured after a UAV strike. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

Russian attacks damaged and destroyed civilian infrastructure, including a shop, a catering facility, an outbuilding, homes, a passenger car and non-residential premises.

In Donetsk Oblast, two residents were killed in Kramatorsk and Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka. Seven more people were injured. Over the day, Russian forces damaged eight houses, 20 apartment buildings, three administrative buildings, an infrastructure facility and 20 vehicles.

In Kherson Oblast, eight people were injured as a result of Russian aggression. In particular, two people were injured on the morning of 9 February.

"At about 06:30, Russian occupying forces attacked Kherson with UAVs. A 51-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man came under fire. Early reports indicate they have sustained blast injuries and concussions," the regional administration reported.

All those injured were taken to hospital.

Over the past day in Kherson Oblast, Russian forces damaged three apartment buildings, 54 houses, an administrative building, a gas pipeline and a private vehicle.

Background:

  • On the night of 8-9 February, Russian forces attacked Odesa with drones, killing a man and injuring two others. Fires broke out in the city, and residential infrastructure was damaged.
  • In Kharkiv Oblast, a woman and a 10-year-old child were killed in a Russian drone strike, and six more people were injured.
  • In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, nine people were injured in a Russian drone attack, including a child.
