Russians launching FPV drone from Gerbera UAV recorded on video
Ukrainian Defence Ministry adviser Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov has released a video showing a Russian Gerbera drone launching an FPV drone over the city of Sumy.

Quote: "The video shows the moment an FPV is launched from a Gerbera UAV. You may remember I told you about this last week."
Details: According to Beskrestnov, cases of the Gerbera being used as a carrier for FPV drones are being recorded daily.
For reference: In autumn 2024, Defence Intelligence of Ukraine published the component base of the Russian Gerbera drone on the War&Sanctions portal. At the time, the intelligence agency reported that Russia assembled these multi-purpose UAVs at a factory in the Russian city of Yelabuga.
At that point, it was known that the Gerbera could carry a warhead as a kamikaze drone and conduct electronic reconnaissance, including detecting air defence positions and recording the strikes of other UAVs.
Defence Intelligence also noted that the drone imitates the Shahed-136/Geran-2 and is widely used by the Russians to overload Ukraine's air defences.
Background:
- On 3 February, Beskrestnov reported that a Russian Gerbera drone had been used for the first time as a carrier for an FPV drone.
- "Unfortunately, the drone itself has not been found. It could be either a strike drone or a reconnaissance one. It is unclear how widely this case will be applied in the future, but everyone should be informed," Beskrestnov wrote.
