Details: The SES reported that the strike had caused fuel pumps to catch fire in the Bohodukhiv district. One civilian was injured.
"SES firefighters have promptly extinguished the fire. Fire and rescue units from the State Emergency Service, along with a medical team and a community rescue officer, worked at the scene under the constant threat of renewed enemy attack," the SES said.
Background:
- Earlier, it was reported that work had begun in Sumy to install protection systems at petrol stations against Russian drone attacks.
- Prior to that, Sumy Oblast Military Administration was working with businesses on the issue of protecting petrol stations from Russian attacks.
- Last year, a Russian drone attack destroyed the last petrol station operated by OKKO, a Ukrainian network of petrol stations, cafes, car washes and shops, in the town of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk Oblast.
