Ukrainian air defences intercept 15 Russian Iskander missiles and almost 200 drones, 13 hits recorded
Russia attacked Ukraine using 24 Iskander-M and S-300 ballistic missiles and 219 drones on the night of 11-12 February. Ukrainian air defences have managed to down 15 ballistic missiles, 1 air-to-surface missile and 197 UAVs.

Details: The ballistic missiles were launched from Russia's Bryansk, Voronezh and Rostov oblasts as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea. Kh-59/69 air-to-surface missiles were fired from the airspace over temporarily occupied Donetsk. In addition, 219 Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas loitering munitions as well as drones of other types approached Ukraine from the Russian cities of Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Shatalovo as well as from Hvardiiske in Crimea.
About 150 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.
The attack mostly targeted Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro and Odesa.
Early reports indicated that as of 09:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 213 aerial assets:
- 15 Iskander-M/S-300 ballistic missiles
- 1 Kh-59/69 air-to-surface missile
- 197 drones
Hits by 9 missiles and 19 UAVs had been recorded at 13 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 14 locations.
The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
