US Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal has said Russia is deliberately targeting US-owned businesses in Ukraine and stressed that there should be no doubt the United States will continue its operations there.

Details: Blumenthal said that during his visit to Kyiv, he learnt about targeted Russian attacks on American businesses in Ukraine.
"In Ukraine, it's open season on American businesses. Vladimir Putin is targeting American plants and headquarters here in Ukraine with missiles and drones," he noted.
Meanwhile, the US senator cautioned against any doubts as to whether the United States would continue doing business in Ukraine.
Quote: "America will continue to do business in Ukraine. We're going to be as resilient as the people of Ukraine. But the American people should understand that businesses here and some of the major names in American business have been targeted purposely, repeatedly, and relentlessly by Russia. And that kind of attack should spur even greater outrage than we're seeing already."
Background:
- On 21 August, Russia struck Zakarpattia Oblast (Transcarpathia) in Ukraine's west. The region suffered significant destruction for the first time since the start of the full-scale war. Two Kalibr missiles destroyed Flex, a US electronics manufacturing company, on the outskirts of Mukachevo.
- On 8 January, the US Embassy in Ukraine warned of a "potentially significant" aerial attack in the coming days – that same night, Russia struck Ukrainian regions and launched an Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile against Lviv.
