Ukrainian forces achieve tangible results this winter, Zelenskyy tells Macron

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said Ukraine's defence forces achieved tangible results this winter and held all key defensive directions.

Quote: "Ukrainian warriors have achieved tangible results this winter and have held all key defense lines. It is important that the joint European agreements on €90 billion in support for Ukraine over the next two years, as well as on a new sanctions package against Russia, are implemented after all."

Details: Zelenskyy discussed the situation in Ukraine and key defence needs with Macron and briefed him on the aftermath of Russia's large-scale strike on the night of 6-7 March and on developments on the front line.

Quote: "Of course, we spoke about the Middle East and the Gulf region – the situation around Iran and its prospects. Emmanuel supported our work toward greater security in the region – Ukraine has the most experience in defending against Shaheds [drones], and this Ukrainian experience can become one of the foundations of renewed and more effective collective security with all partners."

More details: Zelenskyy added that Ukraine and France are preparing joint diplomatic formats in the coming weeks.
