Quote: "The ball is now in the court of the United States and Russia. I am very grateful to America for continuing this format and, God willing, we will have this opportunity in the coming weeks."
Details: The president reiterated that Ukrainians are ready to meet "in any format, in any place, except for Russia and Belarus", but the trilateral meeting is currently being delayed because "the US focus today is on Iran".
"The trilateral meeting will take place when both sides – Russia and America – are able to meet with us. Why do I say this? Because today America has proposed a meeting in the United States, and we supported it. Russia said it would not meet in the United States. Russia proposed Türkiye or Switzerland (I no longer remember, as three weeks have passed). America said that its negotiating team is not currently travelling outside the United States," Zelenskyy said.
He added that Kyiv is ready to support a meeting "in the US, Switzerland, Türkiye, or wherever partners are ready".
He also noted that he does not believe the situation has reached a deadlock.
"Let Russia surrender – we will not. We must organise a trilateral meeting and continue along the diplomatic track. And in order to be strong at the negotiating table, we must be strong on the battlefield. I am grateful to our armed forces that today we are much stronger than we were six months ago," the president concluded.
