Ukrainian Foreign Ministry calls Iran's claims of Kyiv's "complicity" in war on US side a lie

Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, has accused Ukraine of being an accomplice to US and Israeli aggression because of the deployment of Ukrainian counter-UAV experts to Middle Eastern countries. Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has described the statement as a lie.

Details: In a letter to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Iravani wrote that Ukraine is complicit in the US and Israeli aggression because it had sent Ukrainian counter-UAV experts to Middle Eastern countries.

Quote from Iravani: "This acknowledgment [by Ukraine] of sending 'hundreds of specialists' to the region [...] can effectively be seen as providing material and operational support for the ongoing unlawful military aggression against Iran, led by the United States of America and the Israeli regime."

Details: Iravani went on to say that Ukraine's interference is not incidental but "indicates active participation and facilitation of the unlawful use of force against a sovereign state."

"Ukraine incurs international responsibility under international law for aiding or assisting in the commission of an internationally wrongful act," the letter stated.

He also "categorically rejected" allegations that cooperation between Russia and Iran, including in the field of drones, poses a threat to international security.

Tykhyi noted that no Ukrainian drone has ever struck Iran, whereas Iranian drones have carried out strikes against Ukraine.
