Ukrainian air defence downs 146 out of 176 Russian drones overnight

Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 176 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones since the evening of 7 April. Ukrainian air defences have downed 146 UAVs, but hits have been recorded at several locations.

Quote: "As of 08:00, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 146 drones in the country's north, south and east. Hits by 24 UAVs had been recorded at 12 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at one location."

Details: The drones were launched from several locations in Russia, including Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as from Cape Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea. About 120 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

As of 08:00, the attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
