Kremlin hopes to resume talks with US on Ukraine after ceasefire in Iran

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said he hopes US negotiators will have more opportunities to participate in trilateral talks on Ukraine after US President Donald Trump committed to a ceasefire in Iran.

Details: Peskov said earlier that although the trilateral negotiation process on resolving the war in Ukraine is currently on hold, Russia continues to exchange information with the US.

Background:

• Trump said he has agreed to suspend bombing and attacks on Iran for two weeks if the country agrees to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
• Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, expects that a US delegation may arrive in Kyiv after Orthodox Easter, which falls on 12 April this year.
• Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited a US negotiating delegation to Kyiv.
