Details: Sybiha added that Ukraine's position is that "there is no need to resume strikes at all" because a lasting ceasefire would pave the way for genuine diplomacy to end the war, which "Russia will never win and must finally stop".

Quote: "We believe that a ceasefire is the right strategy to advance diplomatic efforts – whether we are talking about the Middle East or Russian aggression against Ukraine."

Background: The Kremlin has announced that Russian ruler Vladimir Putin has declared an "Easter truce" that will run from 16:00 Moscow time on 11 April until the end of the day on 12 April 2026.
