Details: A Ukrainian Unity Hub will open in Berlin on 15 April. Ukrainian citizens will be able to receive consultations there on returning to Ukraine and rebuilding their lives at home, as well as take part in educational and cultural events.
Visitors will also be able to receive consultations from the Pension Fund of Ukraine on pensions, housing subsidies, benefits, insurance contributions and related issues.
Regular activities for children and young people based on the Ukrainian scouting model will also be held there, along with career guidance and digital skills training for children and adults, seminars and consultation meetings on education and countering disinformation.
The Unity Hub in Berlin will be administered by the National Unity Agency. After opening, the space will operate in test mode, and updates about its work will be published on its official Facebook page.
A number of international and Ukrainian organisations are involved in organising the Hub's work. Their participation ensures a wide range of services, from consultations on returning to Ukraine and accessing social services to educational, cultural and integration programmes and events.
"Germany became the first country with which Ukraine signed a joint declaration on opening a Unity Hub. We want the Hub in Berlin to become a space for maintaining our citizens' connection with Ukraine and a place where they can obtain reliable information to help them decide whether to return home," said Denys Uliutin, Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity.
Background:
- Germany remains the European country hosting the largest number of Ukrainian citizens who have received temporary protection there. Meanwhile, nearly half a million Ukrainians have left Germany for various reasons since 2022.
- The creation of Unity Hubs was announced in spring 2025 in cooperation with partner countries. Alongside Germany, Czechia, Spain and Poland were among the first countries expected to host such centres.
