Background:
- Poland scrambled its aircraft in response to the large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine.
- Russian forces struck an apartment block in the city of Odesa on 15 April, causing a fire. One person was killed in the attack and several others were injured.
- It is also worth noting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the war in the Middle East has led to a significant shortage of supplies for the Patriot air defence systems that are used to protect Ukraine's skies.
