Russia launches 142 drones, including jet-powered UAVs: Ukrainian air defence downs 113, some strikes recorded

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 142 Shahed (some of them jet-powered), Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones on the night of 19-20 March. About 100 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.

Details: Early reports indicated that as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 113 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones in the country's north, south and east.

Hits by 28 UAVs had been recorded at 18 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 6 locations.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
