EU ambassadors to seek final approval of €90bn loan for Ukraine on 22 April

The agenda for a meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper), scheduled for 22 April, has been expanded to include an amendment to the EU's long-term budget for 2021-2027, which would enable the European Union to provide Ukraine with a €90 billion loan.

The spokesperson said: "In light of recent developments, the Presidency has included the amendment of the MFF regulation, the last element needed to allow for the disbursement of the €90 billion loan for Ukraine, on the agenda of the Coreper II meeting on Wednesday 22 April, as a non-discussion item."

The source speaking to European Pravda clarified that following approval at Coreper, a written procedure will be initiated for the final adoption of the amendments to the EU's multiannual budget.

This would mean that the decision could be adopted within 24 hours.
