Quote: "Now it is also important to say that we have no indications that intelligence sharing has stopped."
Details: Meanwhile, Pinho avoided giving a direct answer when asked about restrictions on the operation of Starlink satellite communications systems for Ukraine's defence forces.
In response to repeated questions on the issue, the European Commission said it is "aware of this report" about restrictions on Starlink but declined to comment until it receives "more information".
Another European Commission spokesperson, Thomas Regnier, said talks with Ukraine are ongoing regarding the country's full integration into the Govsatcom system, which pools the existing satellite capacities of EU member states.
Background:
- SpaceX imposed restrictions on Starlink connectivity for terminals being used in moving vehicles overnight on 13-14 October, disrupting Ukrainian military operations.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that US President Donald Trump's administration warned it could halt intelligence-sharing if Ukraine did not stop striking Russian oil refineries.
