Details: The issue has been added to the agenda of a meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of EU member states, scheduled for 22 April. Ambassadors are expected to approve an amendment to the EU's long-term budget during the meeting, which is the final technical step needed to unlock the funding.

The item was reportedly included on the agenda without discussion, which typically indicates prior agreement among member states. If approved, the decision will be finalised through a written procedure, after which it will formally enter into force.
