Russians launch Iskander-M missiles and 143 drones: Ukrainian air defence downs 116 drones and one missile

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 143 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones on the night of 20-21 April. Around 80 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.

Details: Early reports indicated that as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 116 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones as well as one missile in the country's north, south and east.

Hits by 22 UAVs had been recorded at 17 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 7 locations.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
