Since the beginning of 2026, 150 children abducted by Russia have been brought back to territory under Ukraine's control.

Details: In total, 2,100 minors have been brought back since the launch of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative, Zelenskyy said.

In total, since the start of the initiative, more than 2,100 Ukrainian children abducted by Russia have been brought back. Of them, 150 have been returned since the beginning of this year."

Details: The president also noted that the deportation and forced transfer of Ukrainian children had recently been recognised at the United Nations level for the first time as a crime against humanity.

Background: On 16 April, the Bring Kids Back UA initiative reported the return of 19 children and teenagers from occupation. One girl said she had been persecuted by a Russian soldier simply for saying "thank you" in Ukrainian.
