Ukraine's partners announce €100 million in support at Ukraine Energy Coordinating Group meeting

Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister, has said that Ukraine's partners have announced additional contributions of around €100 million to the Energy Support Fund.

Details: Shmyhal noted that a new instrument has been introduced within the Energy Support Fund – the creation of strategic reserves for emergencies in the energy sector.

He said that the Fund's scope will be expanded, with municipal facilities set to become eligible recipients of assistance.

He also outlined new contributions from Ukraine's partners to the Fund.

"Contributions of €100 million to the Energy Support Fund have been announced. This demonstrates a new level of unity and trust in Ukraine," Shmyhal said.

However, he acknowledged that the Fund currently faces a shortfall of €829 million.
