Moscow Victory Day parade without heavy equipment shows Russia's real state, says EU chief diplomat
Kaja Kallas, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, believes that Russia holding the Victory Day parade in Moscow without heavy military equipment reflects the real state of Russia's war against Ukraine. Quote from Kallas: "For the first time in years, Moscow's Victory parade is about to take place without any heavy military equipment. This tells a lot about how the war is going for Russia."
Details: Kallas added that "the grim battlefield maths show Russia is losing a record number of soldiers".
Kallas noted that Russia is failing to achieve its military objectives and that this is becoming increasingly evident.

- Russia's Defence Ministry had earlier announced that the 9 May parade in Moscow will be held without military equipment due to the "current situation".
- Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico plans to visit Moscow on 9 May.
- The position of the Baltic states – Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia – has become a key obstacle to the planned visit by Fico, as they have refused to allow his aircraft to pass through their airspace.
- In 2025, Fico and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić were the only guests from Europe at the level of heads of state to attend the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow hosted by Putin.
