Russia launches 227 attack drones in one day, 7 hit targets in Ukraine

Since 08:00 on 2 May, Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 227 attack UAVs, of which 220 were shot down or jammed, with hits recorded at six locations.

Details: According to the Air Force's statement, between 08:00 and 19:00 on 2 May, the Russians used 227 attack UAVs, including Shahed-type drones (including jet-powered variants), Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones. They were launched from the directions of Shatalovo, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea. Around 135 of them were Shahed drones.

The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defence forces.

Quote: "Early reports show that as of 18:00, air defence shot down or jammed 220 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types across the north, south, centre and west of the country.

Seven attack UAV hits were recorded at six locations, as well as debris from downed drones falling in five locations."

Details: The Air Force added that the attack was still ongoing, with Russian UAVs still present in the airspace.
