Zelenskyy: defence plant in Russia's Cheboksary struck by Ukrainian-made Flamingo missiles – videos

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said the Ukrainian defence forces struck a military-industrial complex facility in the Russian city of Cheboksary on the night of 4-5 May in response to continued acts of terror by Moscow.

Quote: "Our long-range sanctions continue to provide an entirely just response to Russian strikes.

Last night, combat launches of F-5 Flamingo cruise missiles were carried out as part of the Armed Forces' Deep Strike operation against several enemy targets, including military-industrial complex facilities in Cheboksary."

Details: Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian-made Flamingo missiles travelled more than 1,500 km to strike the military production facility that manufactures relay protection systems, automation equipment and low-voltage devices.

The plant has been supplying navigation components to the Russian Navy, the missile industry, aviation and armoured vehicles – equipment used by Russia in its war against Ukraine.

Zelenskyy also released a video from the 19th Missile Brigade showing the launch of Flamingo missiles.

Background: Users on Russian social media communities reported that a Ukrainian missile had struck the VNIIR-Progress defence plant in Cheboksary, the capital of Russia's Chuvash Republic, on the night of 4-5 May.
