Quote: "Following the negotiations mediated by the US that took place recently, Ukraine has provided the Russian side with a 'list of 1,000', compiled according to the length of time Ukrainian servicemen and servicewomen have been held captive since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The principle of compiling the lists based on time spent in captivity has been repeatedly agreed upon by authorised negotiators from Ukraine and Russia. This is a fair humanitarian approach conducted with the participation and support of the US and demonstrates to the world Ukraine's concern for its defenders. It is also one of the steps towards a just peace."
Details: The Coordination Headquarters stressed that "the negotiation process is currently ongoing".
"In order to preserve its effectiveness, we ask everyone to refrain from spreading any unverified information obtained from sources other than official ones," the statement said.
