Quote: "In June, we expect the first tranches of the European support package for Ukraine – €90 billion over two years. It is in June that these funds must begin working for Ukraine's resilience."
Details: Zelenskyy added that Ukrainian government officials are currently working actively with the European Commission to ensure that the process is not delayed.
"Our internal resilience and strong foreign policy work are the foundation of our protection and our defence," Zelenskyy added.
Background:
- Sources told European Pravda earlier that Ukraine will begin receiving the first payments under the EU's €90 billion loan no earlier than June 2026.
- The sources' information appears to contradict a statement made by European Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos on 11 May that the first tranche of the €90 billion EU loan will be disbursed next week.
- Sources recently disclosed how the EU may allocate 2026 military funds for Ukraine under the €90 billion loan.
