Air-raid warning issued in parts of Lithuania after detection of drone

The Lithuanian Ministry of Defence has issued an air-raid warning in several parts of the country after a drone was detected in airspace near the border.

Details: According to the Lithuanian Defence Ministry, the drone was likely approaching from Belarus.

"NATO Baltic Air Policing has been activated," the ministry added.
Background:
- On the morning of 19 May, several regions of Latvia were warned about a possible threat in the airspace.
- A day earlier, a Romanian fighter jet shot down an attack drone in Estonia's airspace after an air-raid warning had been issued in part of the country. It marked the first known interception of a drone over Estonian territory.
- NATO welcomed the downing of the drone that violated Estonia's airspace on 19 May.
