Oleksii Danchyn, Head of Vyshhorod District Military Administration, has said settlements in Kyiv Oblast are being prepared for all-round defence.

Quote: "The military command has ordered preparations for defence, including all-round defence of settlements in Kyiv Oblast. We have 32 of them, including the city of Kyiv."
Details: Danchyn added, citing military estimates, that up to UAH 11 billion (more than US$249 million) will be needed for priority measures alone.
Background:
- On 15 May, following a meeting with Ukraine's military leadership, intelligence services and the Security Service of Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine continues to record attempts by Russia to further draw Belarus into the war against Ukraine and instructed Ukraine's defence forces to present a response plan.
- After that self-proclaimed Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko claimed that he is open to talks with Zelenskyy and is willing to meet him "at any location" for this purpose.
- At the beginning of the full-scale war in 2022, some Russian forces entered Ukrainian territory from Belarusian territory. Missile strikes were also carried out from its territory.
