Russia attacks five Ukrainian oblasts with bombs, drones and artillery: one killed, eight injured – photos

One person was killed and at least eight were injured in Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Odesa oblasts on 27 May and on the night of 27-28 May.

Details: In Donetsk Oblast, Russian forces killed a man in Druzhkivka. Three people in the region were injured.
Filashkin said the reported total number of casualties in the region does not include people killed in Mariupol and Volnovakha.
In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, two women aged 58 and 65 were injured. In total, Russian forces launched 689 strikes on 40 settlements across the region.
Specifically, Russian troops carried out 20 airstrikes, used 440 UAVs of various types – mainly FPV drones – launched 11 strikes using multiple-launch rocket systems and carried out 218 artillery attacks.
Residential buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged in the region. The authorities received 48 reports of destruction.
In Sumy Oblast, an 11-year-old boy was injured in a Russian drone attack on the Okhtyrka hromada. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]
Over the past day, Russian forces bombarded 25 settlements in 15 hromadas across the region more than 60 times. The Russians used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs.
The attacks damaged and destroyed houses, apartment buildings, vehicles, outbuildings, an educational institution and other civilian infrastructure facilities. Nine people were evacuated from border hromadas.

In Kharkiv Oblast, nine settlements were attacked. Two people were affected: a 62-year-old man in Kozacha Lopan and a 54-year-old man in Izium who was suffering from shock.

Russian forces used seven guided aerial bombs, three Shahed/Geran-2 drones, two FPV drones, and another 18 UAVs of an unidentified type to strike the region.

Damage was caused to houses, vehicles, outbuildings, a garage, an apiary, power lines and a post office branch in the Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk, Izium, Kharkiv, Lozova and Chuhuiv districts.

On the night of 27-28 May, Russian forces attacked the south of Odesa Oblast with attack drones. A drone hit a house and an infrastructure facility. Windows were shattered in nearby homes. Early reports say that no people were injured.
Background: On the night of 27-28 May, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with a Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile and 147 drones of various types. Ukrainian air defence downed 138 drones, although strikes from the missile and nine UAVs were recorded at seven locations.
