Zelenskyy confirms strikes on military plant and naval base in St Petersburg – video
Ukraine's defence forces struck the Kronstadt naval base, the main stronghold of Russia's Baltic Fleet, and a military plant in Russia's Tambov Oblast on the night of 2-3 June.

Quote: "Our long-range sanctions carried out by the warriors of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces, Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine have yielded good results. Important facilities on Russian territory were hit last night.
Purely military targets at the Kronstadt base were also hit."
Details: Zelenskyy also confirmed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked a plant in Russia's Tambov Oblast that produces equipment for aircraft and missile control systems. He specified that the plant is located nearly 600 kilometres from the front line.

Background:
- Russian authorities and monitoring Telegram channels earlier reported a drone attack on a military facility in Michurinsk, Tambov Oblast. It was reported that the Progress plant, which produces equipment for aviation and missile control systems, was on fire following the strikes.
- The governor of Russia's Leningrad Oblast, where the Kronstadt naval base is located, also reported a drone attack. The strikes took place on 3 June, the opening day of the International Economic Forum in St Petersburg, which Putin is expected to attend.
- Reports also emerged of an oil terminal ablaze in St Petersburg; the Special Operations Forces and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy subsequently confirmed the strike on the terminal.
