Quote: "This is our Churchill moment and we must pass the test."

For reference: The phrase "Churchill moment" refers to a critical historical moment when courage, determination, leadership and resilience are required in the face of a major threat.

Previously: A bipartisan group of US senators criticised delays by the Department of Defense in providing US$600 million in security assistance to Ukraine and other allies in Eastern Europe, sending a letter on 22 May to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth demanding that the funds be released.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence stated that partner countries' contributions to the PURL programme are sufficient to continue deliveries of critical weapons to Ukraine from the US.
