Details: The jet-powered Shahed drones were intercepted using Ukrainian-made Sting interceptor drones, their manufacturer, Wild Hornets, said.

Roman commands a platoon in the Bulava unit of the Presidential Brigade. The interceptor drone crew was established in October 2025, and by early June 2026, the unit had downed its milestone 500th Shahed drone.

In May, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented Roman with the title of Hero of Ukraine and the Order of the Gold Star. By that time, the operator had destroyed 70 pieces of heavy Russian equipment, 12 artillery systems, 60 light vehicles and over 200 aerial assets.
