US begins production of 65 MSFV armoured vehicles for Ukraine
US defence company Textron Systems has announced the start of production of 65 Mobile Strike Force Vehicles (MSFV) for Ukraine.

Details: The vehicles are being manufactured at the company's facility in Louisiana.
Quote: "Sixty-five MSFVs will be delivered to Ukraine in support of its defensive ground forces, providing advanced protection and agility on the battlefield. The reinvigoration of an active manufacturing line reflects months of preparation, coordination and facility readiness to meet production requirements."
Details: Defence Blog reported that production of the armoured vehicles began under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. The contract for 65 MSFVs is valued at US$163.4 million, with completion expected no later than November 2028. It covers not only the vehicles themselves but also spare parts, special tools and testing equipment.
The MSFV is an upgraded version of the M1117 Guardian armoured vehicle, which the US has previously supplied to Ukraine. The variant features enhanced protection and an extended hull. The vehicle is powered by a Cummins QSL 365 diesel engine paired with an Allison 3500SP six-speed automatic transmission. According to Defence Blog, the vehicle is approximately 6.7 m long.
Background: The US announced a tender for the production of 65 MSFV vehicles for Ukraine in September last year. In January 2026, Textron Systems signed a contract with the US Army to manufacture the vehicles.
