Zelenskyy meets Swiss president

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced a meeting with Swiss President Guy Parmelin, during which they discussed ongoing Russian attacks, Ukraine's needs to strengthen its air defences and sanctions measures that "can also force Russia to the negotiating table".

Details: Zelenskyy said he had briefed Parmelin on Russia's continued attacks and Ukraine's urgent defence needs.

Quote: "I spoke about the situation on the front line and Ukraine's long-range sanctions. Our mid-range strikes and deep strikes are quite rightly forcing Russia to feel the consequences of the war it unleashed. And we discussed which sanctions measures by our partners can also force Russia to the negotiating table."

Details: Zelenskyy also stated that the conversation had touched on cooperation in the energy sector. He said Switzerland had helped Ukrainians get through the winter and Ukraine is counting on continued support.
