Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said on arriving at the EU summit in Brussels that the large-scale drone attack on Moscow on the night of 17-18 June has fundamentally changed the course of the war in Ukraine's favour, but that Russia is still showing no readiness for peace talks.

Quote: "We see that Ukraine is prevailing in this war. We see more and more evidence that the war in Ukraine is coming closer to the Russian population. Actually, what is happening right now in Moscow, it's a game changer in this war, because the Russian population will start to realise that this is not about watching the war on the TV screens, but this is about the war on their own soil."

Details: Nausėda also highlighted the development of Ukraine's defence industry, which is producing huge numbers of drones. He noted that Russia has so far shown no willingness to engage in peace negotiations.

  • Commenting on the latest Ukrainian strikes on Moscow, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that pressure on Russia to end the war must come not only from Ukrainians but also from Americans, Europeans and Russians themselves.
