Germany to supply Ukraine with air-to-air missiles from its own stocks

German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius has announced the supply of a three-digit number of air-to-air missiles to Ukraine from German stocks, as well as the joint production of ground robotic systems.

Details: Pistorius said Germany would continue to adapt its support to Ukraine's needs and stressed that his country's focus is on air defence.
"We have delivered another IRIS-T system to Ukraine. Most recently, we also fast-tracked the delivery of IRIS-T SLS and SLM guide missiles. Additionally, we will deliver a three-digit number of air-to-air missiles from our own stocks," the German defence minister said.
Pistorius also recalled that Germany will allocate US$200 million for the purchase of additional PAC-3 missiles under the Jumpstart programme.
In addition, Ukrainian and German companies have agreed to jointly produce Termit ground robotic systems, Pistorius said.
He noted that the necessary production facilities will be established in Germany.
A regular meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, chaired by the UK and Germany, is taking place in Brussels on the afternoon of 18 June. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte are attending in person.
